NetFreight, a browser-based, multimodal freight-management system from Impatex, has added features to serve the needs of larger, multi-branch customers. The enhancements include electronic freight capability, by which users can transmit air waybills in the form of master air waybill (FWB) and house air waybill (FHL) messages directly from the system. Introduction of the feature follows successful trials among Impatex's NetFreight customers in the U.S., the vendor said. Also included in the new version of NetFreight is a full warehouse-management system (WMS), which stores and updates information such as stock levels that can be made visible to customers via the internet. The program embodies a new, inbuilt report generator with a high degree of customization, although customers can continue to use third-party packages such as Crystal Reports or SQL for reporting. A permissions feature allows NetFreight administrators to supply users with tailor-made access levels. Existing functions of NetFreight to be enhanced include new track-and-trace screens, which can be customized to accommodate customers' individual data requirements and carry their own corporate identities. E-mails can now be sent directly from NetFreight, eliminating the need to open a separate e-mail client.
