DHL Launches New Service for Goods Crossing U.S.-Mexico Border

March 29, 2011

DHL has launched a new, integrated service for goods crossing the border between the U.S. and Mexico. Dubbed Logistics Without Borders, the offering will provide "one-stop" access by shippers, carriers and end-users to tools that simplify the cross-border process, while ensuring that shipments reach their destination securely and on time, the company said. Customers will be able to draw on the expertise of DHL's Global Forwarding and Supply Chain divisions, accessing modules for transportation, customs and brokerage, bonded warehousing, cross-docking and document management. Extended services also include in-plant processes, vendor-managed inventory and supply chain analysis and design. According to DHL, the integrated network can help shippers to avoid the fragmentation that can occur at the border when hand-offs are made to multiple providers without oversight of the process. Logistics Without Borders provides a single chain of custody and visibility for each item in the supply chain, DHL said. The company is part of Deutsche Post DHL.
