Kinaxis Debuts Version 9 of RapidResponse App for Reacting to Changes in Supply and Demand

Kinaxis Inc., a vendor of software to aid companies in responding quickly to shifts in supply and customer demand, has developed a new version of its suite known as RapidResponse 9. The tool provides visibility and coordinated response to changes in manufacturing and fulfillment organizations, the vendor said. It gives manufacturers the ability to weigh the tradeoffs involved in responding to unexpected events. They can analyze alternative strategies as they adjust to volatility in supply and demand. Among the new measures in Version 9 are event-based monitoring and alerting capabilities, so that users can respond to business exceptions in real time. The RapidResponse 9 Message Center centralizes all alert management and viewing, based on alert triggers created by the user. A TeamForm automatically detects who in the organization would be impacted by, or could provide assistance for, a proposed action. The optional Inventory Liability Manager feature integrates the proactive management of inventory liability directly into the response management process. It stores historical inventory data so that companies can conduct comparative analyses of inventory exposure.
