Oracle Debuts In-Memory Business Apps for Engineered Systems

According to the company, the apps, which draw on DRAM, flash memory and the near-zero latency InfiniBrand network fabric, run 10 to 20 times faster than commodity hardware. They are being offered under several Oracle brands, including PeopleSoft, JD Edwards, Oracle SCM, Siebel CRM (customer relationship management) and Hyperion EPM (enterprise performance management). The faster runtime allows users to generated complex data-crunching analyses in near-real time, as well as boost accuracy and supply-chain responsiveness, Oracle said.
