Datalogic Adds Voice-Picking Capability to Mobile Computers

The vendor's Lynx PDA, Elf PDA, Memor pocket mobile computer and Skorpio X3 mobile computer have been certified for the Wavelink Speakeasy voice-picking application. In addition, they can be supplemented by industrial-grade headsets to boost efficiency in warehouse environments. The Datalogic headset was specifically designed for voice-picking and speech-recognition applications in distribution centers and other high-noise industrial settings, Datalogic said. The Wavelink Speakeasy system requires no additional hardware or server installation; it can be implemented on the backbone of existing ecosystems. The Datalogic picking technology implementing the Wavelink Speakeasy system does not call for specific unit voice training. It allows for the recognition of various voices, accents and dialects, according to the vendor.
