The new device features a faster Intel Core i5 vPro processor, Microsoft Windows 8.1 Pro, a single battery promising up to 10 hours of continuous use, optional bridge battery and eight-megapixel rear camera with software for location-based services. It also includes key features of the previous version, including a fully ruggedized design certified to meet specifications for withstanding drops of up to four feet, shock, vibration, altitude, humidity and extreme temperatures. An optional Opal-compliant self-encrypting drive will be made available in summer 2014, Panasonic said.
