They can help users to comply with the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration's revised Hazard Communication Standard (HCS) for workplace labeling. The new labels feature an easy-to-understand rating system, providing safety professionals and other employees with "quick-glance" information as to whether a chemical might be hazardous, and how severe a risk has been evaluated for it, Labelmaster said. The labels communicate in-plant hazard information through the use of colors, numbers, letters of the alphabet and symbols of types of personal protective equipment.
