Convoy Launches On-Demand Service for Regional, Local Trucking

The service allows companies to book shipments in seconds with nearby trucking companies, and track their locations. Carriers in the Convoy network receive notifications of jobs over their phones. They complete the jobs using Convoy's free mobile app, which doubles as a tool for managing and expanding their fleets. The service, which is debuting following a successful beta period, eliminates haggling over price, Convoy said. The company is now operational in Washington State, centered in the Seattle-Tacoma area.
