HighJump Expands E-Commerce Functionality in WMS
The aim, the vendor said, is to streamline high-volume internet retail operations. A process for wave planning groups batch picks by item proximity. The software allows for 100-percent paper-free picking, while maintaining full item visibility throughout the order lifecycle. It can optionally pre-define packing stations based on unique variables such as pack size or order profile. Proprietary print-and-store technology eliminates print latency in the creation of end-of-line packing slips. Stations can be created on the fly to meet demand, or workloads can be dynamically redistributed through behind-the-scenes parcel-shipping and ship confirmation, via mobile devices. The tool integrates pick walls, carousels, conveyors and pick-to-light systems into workflow, HighJump said.
