MIT Creates New Supply-Chain Research Center in China

The joint initiative will set up the Ningbo Supply Chain Innovation Institute China (NSIIC). The center will join MIT's global Supply Chain and Logistics Excellence (SCALE) network, which also includes locations in Colombia, Spain, Luxembourg and Malaysia, as well the MIT Center for Transportation & Logistics in Cambridge, Mass. The building that will house NSIIC has already been identified, and plans for renovation are underway, MIT said. The center will be an independent, degree-granting academic institution established under Chinese law. It will open in the fall of 2016, with its first master's students matriculating in the fall of 2017.
