Managing Supply Chains in Crisis Areas: Lessons From an Expert

August 25, 2021

Bob Bowman

How do you set up and maintain critical supply chains in some of the world’s most difficult environments?

Ron Cruse has more than 20 years’ experience operating supply chains in areas of strife and disaster. The founder and chief executive officer of Logenix International helped to get supplies into Sierra Leone during the Ebola crisis, set up a healthcare infrastructure in South Sudan during the country’s civil war, and shipped more than 12 billion doses of HIV medicine into Yemen. From that experience, he has derived a number of lessons that can help supply chains operate smoothly all over the world — especially in the disruptive environment caused by COVID-19 and the ensuring recession and congestion in key freight facilities and corridors. On this episode, he shares some his insights into what it takes to cope with unexpected crises — which seem to be happening with increasing frequency. Hosted by Bob Bowman, Editor-in-Chief of SupplyChainBrain.
