Agilysys Partners With Vangard Voice Systems for Mobile, Wireless Applications

Agilysys, Inc. is partnering with Vangard Voice Systems, Inc. to bring voice technology to Agilysys's products. Vangard sells the AccuSpeech Mobile Voice Platform (MVP) for voice-enabling mobile systems. The technology will now be offered in NextVision, Web-based mobile and wireless retail software from Agilysys. Users of NextVision can select optional voice-powered capabilities for data entry, application function commands and navigation. Agilysys said it chose Vangard's MVP for its ability to quickly and non-invasively add voice capabilities to the company's own applications. NextVision mobile and wireless products can now deliver compete device-resident voice capabilities on a wide variety of mobile devices, the partners said. The first NextVision voice-enabled applications to be made available to customers include mobile shelf-price verification, inventory management and instant alert notification, offered in the NextCollection and NextManager products.
