The average recession lasts eight months. The one we're currently experiencing, however, is into year number two. Although no one knows how long it will last, we do know consumers' shaken confidence in government and banking systems will be long lasting. The good news is that there are lessons from history on how consumers react in a downturn, how it shapes future generations, and how it all translates into supply chains of the future.
