RedPrairie Adds E2e Flowcasting; Supports Zebra RFID Printer
RedPrairie Corp. is adding the E2e Flowcasting application to its suite of software. Flowcasting draws on retail point-of-sale (POS) data to create a model of the business for improved demand forecasting. Reports encompass product demand, transportation, financial projections and capacity plans, resulting in a common set of plans upon which all trading partners can agree. According to RedPrairie, the tool results in improved visibility for manufacturers, reduced out-of-stocks, increase sales, and enhanced collaborative business processes. Manufacturers get an accurate picture of future customer demand, allowing them to reduce safety-stock levels and improve productivity. The technology is being offered in partnership with Factory 2 Shelf and Retail Pipeline, both of which have applied distribution resource planning (DRP) principles to the store level. In a related announcement, the new release of RedPrairie's Warehouse Management software will support the P4T Series Mobile Thermal Transfer RFID Printer/Encoder from Zebra Technologies Corp. The devices can be carried and mounted in locations ranging from an employee's belt to a lift truck. Mobile printing-based processes can incorporate technologies such as voice and RFID, leading to enhanced warehouse productivity, RedPrairie said.
