GT Nexus Launches Service for Complying With Customs' 10 + 2 Rule

July 30, 2009

GT Nexus has created Easy ISF, a service to help importers comply with the Importer Security Filing (ISF) mandate, also known as the "10+2 Rule," of U.S. Customs and Border Protection. For a monthly fee of $295, five users at a company can make unlimited 10+2 filings directly to CBP, through the GT Nexus industry trade and logistics portal. They can then manage responses online. Easy ISF gives importers access to a standard online application, to enter and validate the 10 additional data elements that are being required by CBP. Information is transmitted directly to the regulatory agency at the click of a button. The system also collects the ISF response and status advisories from CBP, presenting them to the importer in a format where all filing activities can be viewed on a single online dashboard. Exception-management tools and reporting capabilities allow importers to maintain control of all filings. The 10+2 rule took effect in January of this year, although CBP won't begin assessing fines for non-compliance until January 26, 2010.
