Ford saw its sales of electric vehicles, hybrids and trucks each increase by double-digit percentages during the third quarter of 2023.

The probe will focus on new battery-powered electric vehicles (BEVs) and alleged subsidies granted by the Chinese state, a legal notice in the EU’s official journal confirmed October 4.

Volkswagen will be dialing back production of its ID.3 and Cupra’s Born EVs at the company’s Zwickau factory until October 16.

The strike will likely extend to GM's Lansing, Michigan plant as well as Ford's Chicago, Illinois assembly facility, bringing the number of picketers up to 25,000 people.

Toyota said that it is planning to produce 150,000 electric vehicles this year, 190,000 EVs in 2024 and 600,00 EVs in 2025.

The plant is set to start operating in 2026 and will initially produce enough batteries for about half a million EVs.
