Honeywell has introduced the Dolphin 99EX, a durable mobile computer with extended battery life. The device is equipped with high-speed wireless technology which enables real-time voice and data communication. Equipped with a software-definable radio, the 99EX allows on-the-fly switching among cellular carriers, both GSM and CDMA. The unit also incorporates assisted global positioning system (GPS) technology. It features a battery life of up to 16 hours, according to Honeywell. The 99EX is the first product in the company's mobility line to incorporate Adaptus Imaging Technology 6.0. It can read high-density linear barcodes, 2D barcodes and those found on alternative surfaces, such as mobile device screens. It is IP67-rated for durability, capable of withstanding drops to concrete from as high as six feet, and equipped with protection from dust and water. The device integrates light, proximity and motion sensors, helping to conserve battery life and improve ease of use in various environments, Honeywell said. The 99EX is compatible with the company's Remote MasterMind device-management software, which allows all devices within a network to be managed from a single remote location.
