American Airlines Cargo began new service into northern Europe with the launch of direct service between the Finnish capital of Helsinki and Chicago. The route is the latest expansion of AA Cargo's global network, following the announcement of new flights to Shanghai, Budapest, Dublin and Haneda earlier this year.
"American Airlines Cargo is committed to growing our direct services to northern Europe, and this is just one more example of that effort," said Tristan Koch, managing director of European cargo sales. "Chicago is a key gateway that provides our European customers with unparalleled access to global routes, and we are pleased to be building our network to meet their needs."
The non-stop B767-300 service, operated exclusively by American Airlines, departs from Chicago daily with a morning arrival in Helsinki, and will offer the carrier's Expedite and ExpediteTC services. Pharmaceuticals and electronics are expected to be key commodities between the two countries.
The carrier has appointed North Air Logistics as its GSA for the country under General Manager Nette Rohde-Nielsen; all Finnish sales questions can be addressed to: nrn@northairlogistics.fi.
