A weekly Taiwan Madras Trunk (TMT) Service has been launched by Evergreen Line, Wan Hai Line and Interasia Lines. The service has begun sailing from the port of Taichung, Taiwan. It represents the first time that Evergreen Line has called at a port in East India, the line noted, adding that India has been experiencing significant increases in cargo volume, spurred by an annual economic growth rate of 8 to 9 percent. The rotation for the 28-day route is Taichung, Keelung, Hong Kong, Hong Kong (MID stream), Nansha, Shekou, Port Klang, Chennai, Penang, Port Klang, Singapore, Yantian, Hong Kong and Taichung. Evergreen and Interasia Lines will each contribute one ship, while Wan Hai will deploy two in support of the new service.
