Alice.com, an electronic commerce platform and online marketplace for household essentials, has merged with the Spanish company Koto.com. In the process, Alice.com extends its direct-to-consumer online retail model to a European audience. Spain is the first country to be included in the company's global expansion plans, by way of the newly branded site called Alice.es. Consumer packaged goods manufacturers can use it to reach online shoppers in both the U.S. and Europe. Alice.com said it will continue its international growth with similar sites launching in Germany, France, Italy and the United Kingdom in 2012 and 2013. The company's site offers competitive prices, free shipping, instant coupons and automatic product reordering. Alice.com's entire e-commerce suite of products and services will be available for CPG brands in Europe beginning in Spain in the third quarter of 2011.
