Kerry Logistics has acquired a controlling interest in two groups of companies based in China: Shanghai Wisdom Group and Shanghai Huicheng Logistics (HCL). Wisdom is a non-vessel operating common carrier and sea freight consolidator. According to Kerry, it has been ranked as one of the top three companies operating out of Shanghai and serving the Japan and Southeast Asia trade routes. HCL is a third-party logistics provider specializing in integrated logistics for chemicals, with a focus on dangerous goods. The two acquisitions are part of an effort by Kerry to build on its position in the ocean freight and logistics sectors in China, the company said. Hong Kong-based Kerry's core business encompasses integrated logistics, international freight forwarding and supply-chain services. Its logistics facilities encompass more than 2.4 million square feet, with a truck fleet of some 8,000 vehicles.
