The global logistics provider Agility has introduced scheduled air freighter service from key points in China, via Shanghai, to Kaunas, Lithuania. The service was designed to help shippers move goods from China into the growing markets of Northern Europe, the Nordic countries, Russia and the Baltics. The freighter has a capacity of 107 tons and will operate on a weekly basis, with space guaranteed. It gives Agility's customers on that route access to the provider's Expedited and Premier products, with reduced transit times of between one and four days, according to the company. The service is part of a comprehensive logistics offering which includes pickup and warehousing in China, customs clearance in Kaunas and warehousing in Lithuania. Together with Hoptrans, its partner in Lithuania, Agility is providing freight forwarding over land from Kaunas to a broad range of destinations, including all major cities in the region. Customer options at destination include customs clearance and warehousing in both bonded and non-bonded facilities. With departure on Saturday morning from Shanghai, and customs cut-off on Friday morning, the service allows customers to load cargo for delivery over the weekend, with many destinations receiving freight on Monday, Agility said.
