Global Healthcare Exchange, LLC (GHX) has launched the Registration Center, a new browser-based portal which is intended to boost the efficiency of electronic commerce and help companies to control spend. Removing the third-party intervention required under the previous registration process, the new Registration Center lets providers connect with trading partners at their own pace, while providing real-time visibility into trading-partner data. The tool aids in the maintenance of accurate trading-partner relationships, while initiating requests for new partner connections. The center will be included in GHX customers' exchange subscription fees. Benefits of using the self-serve registration tool, according to the vendor, include the ability to reach the world's largest healthcare community more easily than before, real-time access to view and validate vendor information, an easier means by which suppliers do business with trading partners, and increased usage of electronic data interchange, to help reduce discrepancies and operating expense. GHX claims to connect more than 80 percent of licensed beds at U.S. hospitals, as well as providers in Canada and Europe, with companies that supply the majority of their medical and surgical supplies. GHX is owned by major members of the healthcare industry.
