DHL Global Forwarding has been accredited by Envirotainer as a qualified provider of temperature-controlled logistics services. The company's Chicago, San Juan, P.R. and Toronto, Ont. stations have all met the requirements of a five-step process. More than 60 employees at the three locations received the professional training that is required for accreditation by Envirotainer. DHL Global Forwarding said it is the largest forwarder of Envirotainer containers, which are used for the shipment of temperature-sensitive materials. DHL's Chicago and San Juan stations transport life science and healthcare industry medications for large pharmaceutical companies, with most shipments moving to and from Europe and South America. The Toronto station has served the life sciences industry for nearly 40 years, DHL said. Toronto is currently developing special customer standard operating procedure tools, in an effort to further develop its life sciences program. Envirotainer launched its training and quality programs at the request of shippers of healthcare products.
