Capgemini, a provider of consulting, technology and outsourcing services, has expanded its Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) portfolio. It has combined elements of BPO with a new Business Insight feature, giving clients access to business intelligence tools and industry expertise for improved BPO workflow. Users can draw on such Business Insight processes as customer analysis, spend intelligence, audit forensics, revenue recovery, leakage prevention, ethical fraud testing and contract compliance. Business Insight extends traditional BPO beyond considerations of cost reduction to address top-line management issues, Capgemini said. The firm is building on its BPO presence in North America in finance and accounting, utilities and manufacturing. It is now targeting additional opportunities in the North American BPO market, with two new services: BPO procurement, including outsourced operational procurement, spend management and category management; and assurance services for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. Capgemini relies on service-oriented architecture (SOA) in its BPOpen platform for integrated services.
