Pitney Bowes Inc. has enhanced its SendSuite Live service for parcel and freight shippers. The tool now includes access to shipping payments and logistics services. It includes event management, providing for the tracking of all inbound and outbound shipments from pickup to delivery; performance management, offering enhanced rate and route management and execution; freight brokerage, giving small shippers access to discounted rates, and optimization services for larger shippers, including the automatic consolidation of multiple parcels. According to Pitney Bowes, shippers can view their total transportation spend with multiple vendors in one place, allowing for better management of cash flow. The payments service creates one statement for various shipping charges. Shippers have the option to pay in full or over time. Pitney Bowes launched the SendSuite network of carrier connections in May 2011.
