Oracle has officially released Demantra 7.1.1, the updated version of its demand-management software. The tool originally was acquired by Oracle in its acquisition of Demantra in 2006. With the new release, Demantra becomes part of the Advanced Planning group of applications within the Oracle E-Business Suite and Oracle's JD Edwards EnterpriseOne. Users get the ability to accurately predict demand, shape profitability for products and proactively manage global supply chains, Oracle said. Version 7.1.1 adds a number of capabilities, including support for Oracle Fusion Middleware, improved planner productivity, enhancements to data loading and export, new demand-analysis worksheets and data-security enhancements. The release also allows companies to model more precise statistical forecasting, analysis and collaboration scenarios without special training or I.T. support, the vendor said. Demantra's integration with the Advanced Planning applications makes possible preconfigured worksheets for demand and "waterfall" analysis, archiving of forecasts, preconfigured workflows for planner notifications and approval, and access to levels and menus based on security settings for groups and users.
