Sage Software has made generally available its Peachtree 2008 product line, consisting of accounting software for small and mid-sized logistics and manufacturing companies. The suite includes new versions of Peachtree by Sage Premium Accounting for Manufacturing, and the corresponding application for distribution. With Peachtree 2008, businesses with physical inventory can select the number of decimal points, up to a maximum of five, for both quantity and unit-price fields. According to Sage, the feature is ideal for companies with complex inventory who need to track beyond a standard two-decimal setting, resulting in a more precise representation of their inventory and pricing structures. A new document-management feature allows users to add attachments to records, such as vendors, employees, inventory items, payroll checks and quotes directly within the product. All file types are supported with this feature, including Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, Microsoft Word documents, photographs and scanned files.
