Swiss WorldCargo is partnering with the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in the latter's new initiative to develop key managers within its cargo team. The organization will be seconding staff to Swiss WorldCargo in a program to enhance IATA's capabilities in the cargo field, while ensuring closer alignment on key issues facing global cargo. During the placement period, staff members will be exposed to major management functions, including revenue management, tracking and tracing, electronic commerce, operations, security and network management. According to Swiss WorldCargo, the initiative aims to build on IATA's past success by facilitating dialogue on various issues and priorities, in addition to furthering the development of such global efforts as e-Freight and Secure Freight. The first placement of an IATA staff member took place at Swiss WorldCargo's offices in Zurich in September of 2011. Swiss WorldCargo said it is the first airline to partner with IATA's new initiative. Swiss WorldCargo is the air freight division of Swiss International Air Lines Ltd.
