Verisk Analytics has launched IRONwatch, a wireless tracking and recovery device for mobile heavy equipment. The tool is available with no monthly fees. IRONwatch was developed for construction, farm and industrial equipment by the National Equipment Register (NER), a member of the Verisk Analytics family of companies, and American Security Logistics. It is supported by the AT&T wireless network. IRONwatch's "sleeping SIM" capability lowers the cost of tracking and recovery, Verisk said. Featuring an internal battery with a three-month life, it is supported by a round-the-clock service call center which uses the national GPS 911 system, as well as NER's expertise in supporting the investigation and recovery of stolen equipment. According to Verisk, IRONwatch delivers quick and accurate location and recovery information to equipment owners and law enforcement for misplaced or stolen equipment. Verisk provides predictive analytics and decision-support tools for fraud prevention, actuarial science, insurance coverage, fire protection, catastrophic and weather risk, data management and other fields.
