Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics (WWL), a specialist in the movement by ocean of automobiles and rolling equipment, has opened a new office in Moscow. The location augments the carrier's current presence in St. Petersburg. Moscow is the central vehicle logistics hub in Russia, a market that has recently seen rapid growth in the automotive and rolling equipment sector, according to WWL. The city is also a hub for several rail and trucking companies, who serve as partners to WWL in its effort to provide factory-to-dealer service. The St. Petersburg office will continue to be WWL's head office in Russia. WWL has been operating in the country since 2003, setting up a fully owned branch office in St. Petersburg in 2009. The company now offers ocean transport to and from St. Petersburg and Ust-Luga, as well as ports in Finland and Estonia, through transshipment arrangements with short-sea carriers. WWL also provides connections to inland locations in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States.
