Infor has developed EAM Enterprise Edition, the new version of its enterprise asset management software. Formerly known as Infor Datastream 7i, the updated product features built-in functionality specifically for the fleet-management, manufacturing, facilities and life sciences industries. A new Configuration Manager allows customers to create and store their own configurations, allowing for the rapid deployment of settings from test to training to production systems. According to Infor, EAM is trending toward a vertical, industry-specific approach. Such capability gives users access to built-in features, instead of requiring a high degree of customization of generic software packages. Infor EAM permits users to maintain, manage and improve the performance of their capital-asset infrastructure, including manufacturing equipment, fleets and facilities. The system combines asset-management functionality and reporting with analytics. Future releases of Infor's EAM software will provide business-specific functionality for additional industries.
