AeroScout, a developer of Wi-Fi-based asset-tracking RFID solutions, and Deutsche Industrie Video System GmbH (DIVIS), which provides video surveillance technology for logistics, have deployed a RFID solution that should allow management at Pfefferkorn Spedition GmbH to easily identify and locate packages, reducing the financial impact of shipment loss, damage or theft and third-party claims.
"Given the sheer number of shipments that enter and leave our warehouse, the location of customers' assets is crucial to our business," says Klaus Weiss, general manager at Pfefferkorn, a German forwarder. "With this solution, we are able to clearly identify and track every single shipment and package, by combining location data with video surveillance footage. In addition, this solution has substantially decreased the tracking time for shipments-from hours to seconds."
