Ross Stores has signed an agreement to use event management, purchase order management, letters of credit, compliance and catalog tools from TradeBeam, a provider in global trade management software and servcies.
TradeBeam will enable Ross to streamline it process for creating and collaborating on purchase orders with foreign trading partners. It will ensure that all POs contain the required data for customs processing such as Harmonized Tariff Schedule codes. In addition, the system will automate the process of creating and managing letters of credit and will ensure that any change to a PO is automatically reflected in the related LC. Finally, TradeBeam will provide Ross Stores visibility into key supply chain events, including the ability to track a vendor shipment.
Ross Stores, headquartered in Pleasanton, California, is the nation's second-largest off-price company. As of Jan. 28, 2006, operated 714 Ross stores in 26 states and Guam and 20 dd's DISCOUNTS store locations in California.
