Accessible, by clicking here, the new site is a key part of Ryder's military recruiting efforts, which include a commitment to hire 1,000 additional veterans by 2013. At the site, veterans can access an automated feature which enables them to search for jobs according to their specific military occupation specialty (MOS) or military occupation code (MOC). Once a veteran enters the appropriate code, Ryder's search engine will automatically filter the search to display relevant open positions at the company. The website also enables veteran applicants to search for jobs by geography, keyword or job title. Ryder said it currently has more than 670 job openings in every state of the U.S. Currently some 8 percent of its U.S. workforce is made up of military veterans.
