Solution: A single aisle 13-level AS/RS stores cases of soft drinks on pallets and feeds both manual and robotic order picking areas with 2 SRMs working in a single aisle. Savanna.NET® controls all the order processing, which involves full integration of the SRMs, case & pallet conveyors, pallet check stations, gantry robots for high speed layer and mixed layer order picking, manual order top off, stretch wrapping and sequencing for truck loading.
Results: This automated order selection system provides obvious labor savings, plus it enables optimization of truck delivery processes that influence the entire distribution network.
