OB10, a global electronic invoicing network, has entered into a strategic technology partnership with GXS, a provider of business-to-business electronic commerce services. The two entities will collaborate on building an integrated electronic invoicing service, based on OB10's e-invoicing network and GXS Trading Grid, the global B2B integration services platform. Targeted for availability in early 2008, the integrated offering is intended to enhance automation throughout the order-to-cash process, so that customers gain a fully automated and regulatory-compliant service that minimizes manual intervention, errors and delays, the partners said. OB10's product helps businesses to comply with global VAT and tax regulations. The European Union's 2001/115/EC directive requires any company invoicing other organizations within the EU to comply with certain e-invoicing standards, including definitions of the types of data that invoices must include, and storage requirements for auditing purposes.
