Recycled Energy Development develops, owns, and operates power projects that harness waste energy and dramatically reduce greenhouse gas emissions and power costs.
RED says the CHP systems will provide clean, efficiently generated energy to Dean Foods' processing facilities. By recycling waste heat, the units will help Dean Foods achieve its targeted goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 20 percent from its 2008 baseline, part of the company's Environmental 2013 Roadmap.
"RED looks forward to helping Dean Foods reduce its costs, improve its efficiency, and achieve its sustainability goals," said Sean Casten, Recycled Energy Development chief executive officer.
"Recycled Energy Development's proven track record capturing waste heat will help Dean Foods meet its business objectives in ways that also are right for the environment," said Shaun Young, vice president of engineering at Dean Foods.
