The deal extends Schneider's intermodal service to two rail ramps in the region, in Marion and North Baltimore. In the U.S., the service is intended to broaden Schneider Intermodal's service to the Northeast, Southeast and Pacific Northwest. In addition, Schneider said, improved transits will enhance service capability throughout the U.S. and Mexico, while presenting shippers with more multimodal options. CSX became Schneider's primary eastern rail provider in 2008. Schneider also moves loads in the West with BNSF, as well as providing Canadian and Mexican border crossings in partnership with the CN and Kansas City Southern railroads.
