Cleo Communications has released version 3.4.21 of VersaLex, the software underlying its VersaLex Suite of applications for data communications. The package includes Cleo's LexiCom, VersaLex Trader and VersaLex Proxy products. VersaLex 3.4.21 contains several new features, including PGP/FTP and HTTP servers, software update email notification, and VLProxy FTP serving both internal and external clients. According to the vendor, the additions add to ease of use and functionality of the software, in addition to providing protocols for server applications that allow trading partners to send and receive files. VersaLex's all-Java technology runs on industry-standard PCs and servers, and supports a wide variety of operating-system configurations. Lexicom supports communication with major trading networks. VLTrader is a server-level system which implements and manages communications throughout the supply chain. VLProxy is included with VLTrader as a forward and reverse HTTP and FTP proxy server.
