ObjectRiver, a vendor of software for master data management, has introduced version 1.0 of its new application for using service-oriented architecture (SOA) to create Web services. The standalone product allows for the creation of Web services from interface definitions. Users can define an uncoupled business-services layer on top of the data-services layer. Version 1.0 of ObjectRiver SOA generates Java-based, Axis2/STaX-compliant services that can be integrated into any application server. According to the vendor, the software offers a development environment for any kind of service implementation. Developers using the professional version can create templates to generate EJB, .NET or any other kind of services, stubs or code that enable integration. At the core of the SOA product is ObjectRiver's metadata compiler, which generates a complete Web-services infrastructure, including WSDL interface descriptions, build scripts, client and server AxisA stub code and Asix2 executable archives.
