Solution: The client implemented a completely integrated RFID-based inventory management system that combined RFID tags; Motorola RFID readers, RFID antennas and mobile computers; and Cenbion inventory management software.
Results: An automatic inventory tracking solution, from stockrooms to operating rooms to waste areas, has improved inventory management by preventing stock-outs, supply hoarding, and inventory shrink.
Our client has reduced on-hand inventory value significantly, from $3.2 million to $2.7 million. The streamlined inventory management system allows our client to make better purchasing decisions and take advantage of bulk discount pricing. In addition, our client has more efficient expiration date management, with proactive removal of expired inventory.
