The initial flight arrived on Sept. 12, following ad hoc charters in August. Deploying B747-400 freighters, the service initially is operating five times weekly from Shanghai, via Chengdu or Chongqing, with returns via Tianjin. The airline has slots for up to 10 flights per week from Amsterdam. Some of the new services into Schiphol replace flights to Frankfurt. Air China Cargo will draw on Schiphol's road feeder network to more than 100 destinations, allowing for coverage to all major European markets. The new freighter route is Air China Cargo's third serving Europe.
