The MC9010-Z unit was designed for medium- to long-range applications in industrial environments. In particular, the company said, it is suited for manufacturing, warehouse and logistics applications that require reading tags that are out of sight or more than 10 feet away. Its multimodal data-capture design combines integrated RFID, direct part marking and barcode reading. The handheld computer can withstand six-foot drops to concrete, meets IP64 standards and features a non-glare LCD colored touchscreen for use in both indoor and outdoor environments. The model is available with Motorola's Service From the Start With Comprehensive Coverage program, covering normal wear and tear and accidental damage to internal and external components.
