The move was driven by growth in Africa's energy, mining and technology sectors, which constitute core vertical markets for Seko. The new locations offer air and ocean forwarding, project cargo, ground transportation, warehousing, fulfillment and information-technology services. Both Seko Uganda and Seko Ethiopia are drawing on the company's global, Web-based operating system to provide visibility to global supply chains. Seko said it is pursuing an aggressive expansion strategy in Africa, with plans to open additional offices in Morocco, Tunisia, Kenya, Tanzania, Djibouti and Zambia. Seko, which recently became a member of the Netherlands-Africa Business Council, operates an air-freight gateway in Amsterdam which provides air consolidation services for European Union shippers to markets in Africa.
