The new entity will operate out of offices co-located with Rickmers Shipmanagement at 11 Keppel Road. As of Jan. 1, 2013, Rickmers-Linie (Singapore) took over all responsibilities for the ocean carrier's activities from its former agent, Horizon Shipping. The move was intended to strengthen Rickmers-Linie's presence in Southeast Asia, the company said. Rickmers-Linie engages in the global transportation by ocean of breakbulk, heavy-lift and project cargo. It operates the Round-the-World Pearl String Service, in addition to liner services between the U.S., Europe and Middle East/India, as well as charter sailings on demand. It is part of the Rickmers Group, which manages a fleet of more than 115 vessels.
