BlueStar, a distributor of equipment for point-of-sale, barcoding, data collection, radio frequency identification (RFID) and wireless mobility, has announced two new deals with manufacturers. The company will distribute Hewlett-Packard Co.'s suite of retail-hardened POS rp5700 computers. The agreement allows BlueStar resellers to enroll in the BlueStar HP Advantage Partner Program, qualifying them for marketing, training, sales promotion and financial incentives. BlueStar is also distributing the OC3 3-in. Wireless Portable Thermal Label Printer from O'Neil Product Development, Inc., a provider of portable printing systems. The OC3 is designed to be about 35 percent smaller in total volume than the closest competitive label printer, BlueStar said. Aimed at the retail, hospitality, transportation, warehousing, car rental and healthcare industries, the unit prints high-quality label and receipt media up to three inches wide, at speeds of up to 203 dpi.
