It will incorporate the line's America-Asia westbound service, established in 2006. Rickmers-Linie is a specialist in the worldwide ocean transportation of breakbulk, heavy-lift and project cargoes. Ten years ago, it introduced its Round-The-World Pearl String service with an eastbound rotation. Two or three chartered, multi-purpose heavy-lift vessels will launch the new service. The first, Huanghai Glory, has a lifting capacity of up to 160 metric tons and a deadweight of 28,300 metric tons. The second vessel is expected to enter service in May of 2013, with the arrival of a third ship to be announced later. Rickmers-Linie said it plans to run the service on a monthly schedule in the future.
