The company has established a new direct connection from its Americas hub in Cincinnati, OH to Japan, along with links between Japan and the rest of the Asia-Pacific region. A daily flight from Nagoya to Cincinnati will allow for next-day delivery to the U.S. for all locations directly serviced by DHL in Japan. The return connection between Cincinnati and Tokyo will enable two-day delivery to that city and surrounding metropolitan area for shippers in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Latin America. Both routes will be serviced by Boeing 747-400 aircraft, with capacity of more than 100 tons. In another service enhancement, DHL will double the frequency of its widebodied freight connections to Australia from two to four days per week. DHL said it will reinforce the U.S.-Australia connection by routing shipments via Japan. At the same time, it will offer additional capacity from North Asia markets into Australia. The carrier will deploy two new Boeing 767-300ERG widebodied freighters on the route. In addition, DHL is adding a widebodied freighter between Taipei, Taiwan; Inchon, Korea and Nagoya.
