Cemelog has been providing customers throughout Central and Eastern Europe with tailored healthcare-logistics services for the past 14 years. According to UPS, it offers a strong regional network, advanced warehouse-management systems, quality-assurance services and an experienced workforce. The deal adds three facilities of approximately 255,000 square feet of healthcare distribution space to UPS's European network. The announcement follows the opening by UPS of three dedicated healthcare facilities across Asia in October of 2012, and the expansion of five facilities in North America in early 2013. UPS now operates more than 6.4m square feet of dedicated healthcare space in 41 facilities around the world. The Cemelog acquisition is expected to close in the second quarter of 2013, UPS said.
